De La Tierra
Ishta is a collective based in Aotearoa but consisting of an international lineup which is reflected by their unique ethnic groove sound. Featuring tabla, sitar, bass, hand percussion, flute, saxophone, didge and vocals their live sets encompass a diverse range of styles from uptempo global dance music to blissful lounge. They have just recently taken part in the 24 date 'Monkey Magic' national tour and are currently finishing their debut album at Monkey Records. Ishta's recent performance at Bodega in Wellington was reviewed by The Package as "an intoxicating cocktail of finely balanced aural ethnicity and contemporary groove".
