The Darlings - Sale St, March 31st 2009

Entering Sale St on a Tuesday night it comes as a bit of a surprise to have you attention suddenly captured by gripping melodies and voices clearly tuned as some of New Zealand's top female vocal talent.
The Darlings good natured comradeship was agreeably evident between songsmiths Jackie Clarke, Callie Blood and supporting vocals/guitarist Wayne Bell. Each bought their own unique slant of humor, grounding harmony and seasoned experience that blended into a polished and inviting performance that causes you to pause and consider that an evening with The Darlings is more than just a wind down after a long day at work. In a sharp blend of alt-country and mellow pop, their embracing lyrics and genuine enjoyment on stage made it apparent to the chilled out gathering that it is possible to enjoy good music in the city on a school night.
The Darlings are playing as part of the Sale St Sessions, Sale St Brewery, Auckland City Tuesday nights in April 2009. Free entry.
