recorded in dunedin and wellington 1997-2001, this creative n.z.-funded album is an organic work of art in the digital domain. demarnia's song gems are bound together by an instrumentation ranging from the exotic (tablas, whistle, prayer bells) to the familiar (drums, bass, guitar, organ) to the traditional (violin, double bass, flute, accordion, vibraphone), arrangements glued together by cutting-edge d.s.p. soundscapes and crackling yesteryear sample loops. it has been suggested that in vision and stylistic variety this album comes close to being a "sgt. peppers" for the new millenium.....
