Taken
The original sessions for Taken - recorded at Auckland's York Street and The Lab in 1995 were produced by Wayne Bell, with old Lost label-mate Andrew Thorne on guitar.
Taken spans nine, never dull, sometimes difficult, years – 1994-2003. Although I've written a few notes on the album to
give it context in the end what I say counts for little, from this vantage point I'm an unreliable witness at best. I'm just happy it's now free to tell its own story to whoever wants to listen.

Discuss Greg Fleming And The Trains
Just bought the "Taken" double album, absolute gem, and that's just the first listen, but given the backing musicians, hardly surprising, a number of musicians connected to Splitter, Stellar and Jan Hellriegel's band. If anyone reading this blog likes sloppy alt-country/bar band music, you'll probably love it. Greg has a rough tenderness to his voice that should please fans of Springsteen, The Replacements, Big Star or Gram Parsons, and their spiritual descendants.
