How The Dead Live is inspired by the life of Susannah Hawes, who left Gravesend, England in 1874 to begin life in New Zealand.
This album is the fifth by Jordan Reyne and was commisioned by the New Zealand arts council in order to raise awareness of New Zealand's historical and cultural heritage.
How The Dead Live is a concept album - a tale told in folk noir style.
