Africa/Aroha

Africa/Aroha is a classic NZ jazz release from 1987 from noted NZ musician Jim Langabeer and his band
Superbrew – featuring renowned sax player Rick Robertson, alongside a host of others.
The roots of the album are in Langabeer's time playing and studying in NYC late in 1984 – including playing with the master African musician Baba Olatunji – and he and co-founder Young's love for afro-cuban rhythms.
Africa/Aroha is a superb, sensitive record of world-influenced playing, by world-class NZ performers.
Musicians include:
Jim Langabeer - saxophones, flute, bass clarinet, zafoon, cabassa, reco-reco, tambourine...

Great to see this classic again, and to see
stand-out tenor sax (and percussion) soloist Rick Robertson is listed with the other musicians. He was always hot, strong, and committed in his playing, and later achieved greatness in Australia, along with David Colven (alto). Sadly he was not listed on the original cassette release liner notes.
Thanks.
