Reflections

Driven by soul searching vocals, Tahuna Breaks' unique combination of funk fuelled grooves, reggae and just a hint of drum n' bass has seen them become a popular favourite on dance floors across New Zealand.
Having formed in January of 2005, the Auckland-based band has an ever-growing fanbase. After nearly three years of pumping out countless sweaty and energetic live shows throughout the country supporting heavy weights such as Fat Freddy's Drop, Concord Dawn and Sola Rosa, the band are on the cusp of a new nationwide tour, celebrating the release of their debut album 'Reflections' available 22 October...

Black Brown and White is, im my opinion an outstanding album. Its a well balanced album. Skank a bit, grove a bit and chill to some of the beatiful slower songs. Im struggling to pick a stand out sond as they are all excellent in their own right but i would have to say that the re-working of Crisis Situation from their first album is clever and sounds amazing. Sophies Lullaby would be hard to gloss over...it will give you a shiver down your spine in a good way. Saw the live show in Tauranga which was cool, my only gripe is i wish that bands would release their albums before they tour so we know what we are singing and bopping along to, but hey, thats just personal preference. Great job Tahuna Break, thoroughly impressive and definately one of my favourites over the last few years. Catch you again over summer I hope!
