Rhythm Spike
John Psathas' personal artistic vision is realized in his award winning debut album Rhythm Spike.
This is an album of rhythmic intensity and poetic introspection, performed by a stellar lineup of leading NZ and US musicians including the New Zealand String Quartet, Michael Houstoun & Deidre Irons, Dan Poynton, David Downes, Neil Becker (NZ), and featuring New Juilliard Ensemble members Brian Resnick, Stephen Gosling, David Arend (NY).
Their CVs include work alongside Ornette Coleman, Pavrotti, Steve Reich, Bobby McFerrin, Barenboim, Solti, Boulez, Mheta and Tilson-Thomas.
Rhythm Spike was winner of Best Classical Album, 2000 New Zealand Music Awards.
