Toto translates into English as "blood" and to quote Rodger "I believe that life is in the blood and the bloodline ("whakapapa") which unites us with our ancestors, just as it will tie our successors to us". Toto is a celebration of Maori culture and endeavours to perpetuate the traditions of Maori through waiata.
