Great North Takes Folk Tui

Auckland alt-country act Great North have taken out the Tui for Best Folk Album 2013, in recognition of their second record Halves.

The Recording Industry Association of New Zealand (RIANZ) announced the winner on Sunday 27 January at the Auckland Folk Festival in Kumeu.

The album contains a collection of unconventional love songs, inspired by the marriage of Great North band members Hayden Donnell and Rachel Harrison.
