Anika Moa is Just One of the Big Names at Festival
Starting Monday of next week, the HSFC Art & Film Festival will showcase New Zealand artists of all kinds in order to reach their goal of raising $30000 to start a fund for underprivileged schools and students to attend camp. Occurring the full seven days (January 14-20), people can expect to keep busy with the wide range of activities on offer with a small gate admission fee.
The HSFC Art & Film Festival will be a great opportunity for people of all ages to come and celebrate the creative side of Kiwis. With Art Stalls, Workshops, Art Auction, Kids Zone, Entertainment, Open-Air Cinema and so much more, the HSFC Art & Film Festival will showcase all New Zealand has to offer. In celebrating New Zealand artists of all kinds, there will be a wide range of skills and knowledge on display. From local people of Hanmer Springs to the wider community of New Zealand, everything will be worth checking out.
Many well-known artists have committed to supporting this event whether it is Tony Bridge and his incredible photography, Svetlana Orinko and her water colour masterpieces or Richard Grahame and his brilliant skills in pottery. On top of this, the HSFC Art & Film Festival is proud to welcome Dave Gilberd from Goldbeard Guitars (Wellington) to not only sell his handmade guitars, but also do his work onsite so people can see what exactly is behind the making of a musical masterpiece. Finally, there are those that hardly need an introduction at all when it comes to the music industry - Anika Moa and The Sami Sisters.
The Hanmer Springs Forest Camp is grateful to have such amazing talent all within one event and even more so as the HSFC Art & Film Festival will be fundraising for a cause - the next generation of New Zealand. The Hanmer Springs Forest Camp is run by a Charitable Trust and relies on the support of the community to be able to provide affordable accommodation for people of all abilities -focusing on school camps. The big dream of this iconic camp in Hanmer Springs is to join in the effort to providing the opportunity for all New Zealand students to attend camp. The HSFC Art & Film Festival will help reach this dream as the funds raised will go towards sponsoring underprivileged schools and students to attend such a camp.
Throughout the week at the HSFC Art & Film festival an Open-Air Cinema will feature (Monday - Saturday evenings), playing New Zealand films such as King Kong, World's Fastest Indian and Eagle vs. Shark. January 19 & 20 will be the main event with The Sami Sisters (January 19) and Anika Moa (January 20) bringing the days to a close. Bring your friends and family to spend the day, evening or full week at the event. Tickets start at $15/Adult and $5/Child Day Entry or $10/Adult and $5/Child Open-Air Cinema. All tickets can be purchased through Event Finder online or at the gate. A full schedule of events can be found on the official website at http://www.hsfcfestival.com .
