Street Chant November Tour

After touring the states three times in the past two years in support of their critically acclaimed debut album Means, playing around Australia numerous times - including as the support act for The Dead Weather, playing festivals such as Big Day Out, Laneway and Rippon, beating out The Naked and Famous and Home Brew to take home the first annual Critics Choice Award and the following year being a finalist for the Vodafone New Zealand Music Award's new Alternative category, by the time 2012 rolled around, Street Chant needed a break. Taking this time to slowly self produce and record their as yet untitled sophomore full length, Street Chant eased their tired muscles and found comfort in their own beds as their new material started to take form.
Now they are back! Releasing a double a-side 7" vinyl, with 2 accompanying videos in May to wide acclaim. Their sound has developed and they are ready to take on the world (or at least the Auckland CBD) once more.
This November will see the release of the third single 'Sink', from the highly anticipated second album from Street Chant. What better way to celebrate this (along with the end of a seemingly endless winter) than for Street Chant to do what they do best - play shows!
'Sink' furthers the sound they developed with Frail Girls and shows once and for all, Street Chant aren't afraid of a good hook. As is their tradition the rhythm section is frantic and unstoppable, and the lyrics are snarky and playful. Telling tales of debaucherous, Auckland groundhog nights out, 'Sink' will be released to radio next week just in time for the start of the tour, and the video is due to be completed by the time the Auckland show rolls around.
The nationwide tour has dates in Wellington, Christchurch, Dunedin, Mt. Maunganui and a special hometown Auckland show.
