Dunedinmusic.com Turns 7
Music website, Dunedinmusic.com, will celebrate its seventh anniversary next month with an all-ages event presented by the youth mentoring initiative, AMPED Music Project.
24 acts will come together at Dunedin's Refuel venue on September 1 to mark the occasion, with entry by koha to raise funds for AMPED's album recording scheme.
Acts performing at the event include: John George MacLeod's Melon Platoon, Heka, The Good Chaps, Crisis, Outright, This Way Up, The Prophet Hens, Kahu, The Fu King, Martin Phillipps, Cult Disney, Thoughtful and the Mighty Heart, Ded Sparrows, Males, Two Cartoons, The Great Jali, Astro Children, Hunting Bears, MANTHYNG, A Distant City, Sunley Band, Ink Mathematics, Julian Temple and Ignite The Helix.

The vitality that the local music scene has now is nothing short of amazing. There are several record labels operating, including Independent Records, Fishrider Records, Proxy Music, Monkey Killer Records, Dunedinmusic.com, and these, along with the AMPED Music Project, the team at The Attic and several other local businesses are growing the Dunedin music scene. It's fertile to say the least. Our own business has not only embraced the digital music world, but we are actively developing new partnerships all across the world in this arena."
