Electric Wire Hustle To Play Europe's Best Major Festivals

It's been 5 months since Wellington's Electric Wire Hustle set foot in their hometown as a band. In this time they have performed at many great festivals all over the world including Womadelaide, Australia, the infamous SXSW, Austin, Texas, USA and most recently Gilles Peterson's Worldwide Festival on the shores on the Mediterranean in Sete, South France.
On the 9th of August the boys will touch down in Hungary for the first time to perform at the heavyweight champion of European festivals, Sziget Festival in Hungary's capital city, Budapest. Weighing in with an attendance of 400,000 people Sziget eclipses the UK festival giant, Glastonbury, more than twice over.
"Glastonbury last year was crazy. Trying to navigate through the mud and perform to a population of punters equal to Wellington city was an experience in itself. To be able to take our music to Eastern Europe to an audience double that is surreal. It's bound to be a highlight of our European summer." says EWH drummer, Myele Manzanza.
Sziget, which takes place annually on Obudai Island (Old Buda Island) on the Danube in the heart of Budapest celebrates it's 20th year this year and proudly boasts the award for Best European Major Festival. This year Electric Wire Hustle join a line up which includes international headline acts, Snoop Dogg, Korn, The Roots among many many more including fellow kiwis, The Black Seeds who perform the day after EWH.
Earlier this year Electric Wire Hustle were picked up by reputable booking agency, The Agency Group, who now represent the band in North America and Canada and the group plan to return to the US on their way back to New Zealand, but first they have another month of shows in Europe to complete.
