A Helping Hand For Japan

A Helping Hand For Japan

Moisty Atsushi has been working on organising a fundraiser show for a little town in Japan, called Namie, Fukushima. It will be held at K FM HQ, 208 Karangahape Road, Auckland, on Saturday 26 November.

Namie is one of the worst-hit places in Japan following the magnitude 9.0 earthquake of March this year.

Namie is located only 20 kilometres from the nuclear plants at Fukushima. No one can enter the town unless they're wearing radiation suits, and they were one of the last settlements to receive help from the government. It's still in a huge mess and many bodies have still not been identified.

Namie's council is trying to help people who lived there, with accommodation and general well-being. Now,  they are talking about shifting the whole town.

Moisty Atsushi was born in Namie. Fortunately, many of his relatives there have survived and found places to stay. He thinks this show will be a great opportunity for you to make a direct donation to the people of Namie.

The show will include artists Moisty Atsushi and Miho Wada, each backed by the Rocksteady All Stars. There will also be performances from The Iron Hammers featuring SolomonixManagers, and DJ Ska Rob. Entry is $10.

So, get along to this show if you can, and give your support. It really is for an incredibly worthy cause.
