Beyond The Black Festival

For the first time in New Zealand's rich musical history, some of the best local, national and international rock and metal acts will come together to celebrate New Year 2012 at New Zealand's newest and heaviest festival, Beyond The Black.
Beyond The Black is proud to announce the final addition to the line-up - rock legends Head Like A Hole. Having completed a nationwide tour, risqué rockers Head Like a Hole have received nothing short of glowing reviews for their new album Blood Will Out.
The line-up will also feature Shotgun Alley, Distentomb, Indicator Dogs, Sinate, In Dread Response, Decortica, Whole Lotta Led, Subtract, Sonic Altar, Tainted, Devilskin, Molest The Episcopate, Advocates, Of Blackest Oceans, Bulletbelt and Draco Aerius.
Beyond The Black is to be held at Trentham Racecourse, just a 30 minutes drive from Wellington. Easy to access by car (all patrons receive a free, secure car park), bus and train, getting yourself there will be simple.
The racecourse is a venue that patrons will find moving through a pleasure. Patron safety is a top priority at Beyond The Black. Red Badge will provide solid security, plus Wellington Free Ambulance will be running the Safe Zone and medical care.
The venue is built for hosting very large crowds; the bars are fully equipped to service your needs rapidly. Beyond The Black staff will be continuously on patrol to keep the venue clean and rubbish free. And ladies will be happy to know there are great bathroom facilities, so every aspect of your visit will be a pleasurable one!
The collaboration of well-established and up and coming artists make Beyond The Black the ultimate celebration of the rock and metal scene. With two studio albums behind them and a third on the way, and the recent completion of the European Funeral Nation tour, Sinate make for one of NZ's biggest metal exports. Beyond The Black are also privileged to announce Decortica as part of the 2011/12 line-up. Decortica have just signed with EMI and are predicted to take the world by storm.
Beyond The Black has been specifically crafted to unite rock & metal fans in one place, for one night only. It's the first of its kind in the whole of New Zealand. Beyond The Black co-founders Tamara Buckland and Jenny George have been shown encouragement and support from huge industry names such as 'The Axeman' Paul Martin, who has expressed his keen support. "After a drought of metal new years eve festivals longer than living memory, it's awesome that finally there will be a kick ass New Years Eve Festival catered to the rock and metal fraternity!"
Co-founder Tamara Buckland says, "We want to bring together rock & metal fans from all over New Zealand and with the help of incredible bands and the support from such influential people in the business we aim to achieve this. It's the start of something big!"
On Saturday 31 December 2011 through until New Years Day 2012, rock & metal fans alike are to unite at Trentham Racecourse, Upper Hutt, Wellington to rock into 2012, with the aid of one stage, 16 bands and 14 hours of solid rock & metal.
