Rising From The Rubble Christchurch Fundraiser To Be Released

In a genre largely stereotyped and pigeonholed as offensive, ignorant and apathetic, an array of New Zealand's most prolific
and important heavy music artists are making a difference and leading by example in a joint effort presented by Kiwi FM's 'The Kiwi Metal Bar' and leading alternative music label Deadboy Records on a new compilation release entitled Rising From The Rubble.

The compilation album features 32 tracks of hardcore and metal from Aotearoa's leading genre acts such as In Dread Response, Subtract, Sinate and The House of Capricorn to name a few.

Matt Bell from The Kiwi Metal Bar like many New Zealander's, was deeply affected by the devastation of the 2011 earthquakes in Christchurch and saw a need to support a cause that is so close to home.

Naturally, Matt began talking with bands featured on his heavy-focussed speciality radio show and others in the live circuit to pitch the idea of a fund-raising compilation album with all proceeds going to support those who have suffered in the horrific earthquakes.
Before long, many of the country's top headbangers were lining up to lend a hand and selflessly offer royalty-free tracks to contribute to the double disc effort.

Deadboy Records were approached about a handful of bands from the label and ideas about sponsorship were discussed, which eventually led to the label offering their full support with the backing of major distributor Universal Music to release and distribute Rising From The Rubble nationwide with all profits being donated directly to the New Zealand Red Cross to support earthquake victims and provide relief in Canterbury.

After many months of planning, negotiating and working together on what is to be the heaviest slab of New Zealand music to ever grace
our shelves, Rising From The Rubble will be available nationwide on Monday 22 August.
