Ladi6 And Anna Coddington Mentor Young Musicians
Two musician mentors with the New Zealand Music Commission, Ladi6 and Anna Coddington, participated in the Prime Ministers Youth Programme last weekend. The purpose was to inspire and lead a group of 20 girls through the songwriting process during the school holiday break.
The songwriting workshop, organised by the YWCA, was deemed a great success - unsurprisingly, as Ladi and Anna are two of NZMC's experienced and highly skilled mentors in the NZMC-MOE "musicians mentoring in schools programme". As well as meeting and working with Anna Coddington and Ladi6, the girls also met Seth Haapu, Pieter T, Annabel Fay and Jermaine Leef.
Anna Coddington, Ladi6, Jason Kerrison and many other musicians will be continuing to mentor in schools in 2011 under the Music Commission auspices.
