KORA the album has officially gone DOUBLE PLATINUM! And what better time than in the 10th year of NZ Music Month!

In October 2007 our five superheroes unleashed the ultimate musical odyssey onto the universe. Combining the invincible elements of the KORA strain, rock, funk and house, the self-titled album featured 14 tracks that held true to every component of music that KORA enjoy. And with album art paying homage to their love of arcade games and epic movies the debut album has become an iconic classic, one which has stayed in the Top 100 since its release in 2007!

Since the release KORA have cemented themselves into local legend with a live show that continues to win them acclaim the world over, brought electronic legends Cabaret Voltaire out of retirement to give the album the remix treatment, and most recently created a sonic boom heard across the pacific as the local headlining act on the mainstage at this year's Big Day Out.

At this very moment KORA are gathering their chi and are hard at work on a 2nd album that would be an understatement to call, anticipated.

KORA are Whakatane born, Laughton Kora on vocals, guitar & keys; Francis Kora on bass & vocals; Stuart Kora on guitar & vocals; Brad Kora on drums, joined by 'token white dude' Dan McGruer on keys & bass
