The history of Cyanide Recordings:

In December 1999, Jay and Josh (otherwise known as Bulletproof) got the backing and help of a close friend and began their own record label. It would be a year before the label would master its first release, but when it hit, Cyanide instantly established itself globally as a label with a unique sound and vision.
One that could compete with the well established UK stables. A place where artists were in control of their music.

After hearing the first release, Cyanide was picked up by DJ LEE / VINYL DISTRIBUTION, the leading global distributor of drum & bass in those times.

Cyanide's rule was quality over quantity.

The label was also to be a production house for NZ's emerging talents, but soon enough some of the finest up and coming producers around the world were sending in their tunes.

Since then, Cyanide Recordings has released some of the biggest names in the dance floor / Neurofunk scene... Names like Konflict / Kemal & Rob Data, Gridlok, Phace, Misanthrop, Concord Dawn, DJ Optiv, State Of Mind, Apex, The Upbeats, Dose, Teknik and Agent Alvin to name a few.

Now distributed globally by the leaders in worldwide drum & bass distribution, ST Holdings, sporting a back catalogue spanning over 30 12" vinyl releases, 2 LP's, countless downloads, and new recent adventures into the sound of Dubstep, Cyanide Recordings is internationally and locally recognised as one of the true icons of Aotearoa D&B.

It is with great pride that we invite you to help us celebrate a true milestone in our nation's incredibly diverse and talent-rich drum and bass scene.
