Midnight Youth On The Road This June In Support Of Their Debut Album 'The Brave Don't Run'

14.05.09

Midnight Youth have truly hit the ground running on the back of the success of their first single 'The Letter' - the #1 most played New Zealand song on radio and the music video simultaneously hit #1 on two major music television networks. The track also remains in a Top 10 position for more than 15 weeks in the Radioscope Top 100; while the new single, 'All On Our Own', was the second Most Added song at radio in it's first week, now sitting at #9 on the singles chart.

The Brave Don't Run was recorded in studios in New York (whose previous inhabitants include music luminaries Ryan Adams and Sufjan Stevens) and Auckland (the D4). The album was produced by Brooklyn's Terence Dover and Auckland's Andrew Buckton. Leading up to the album release, the band spent a busy six months touring New Zealand and the United States - American dates included the acclaimed SXSW music festival in Austin (Texas) and shows in New York and in Los Angeles at the famed Viper Room.

Don't miss your chance to see our country's next big thing!

Supporting Midnight Youth on their nationwide tour is the South Island band Dukes, reviewed by The NZ Herald as "a brilliant live act",  while the Christchurch Press has labelled singer Matt Barus "a born frontman and ingenious songwriter". They've gone from winning MTV's Kickstart competition to touring with Th' Dudes and The Checks, to having a song played on US TV series Brothers and Sisters. Dukes have been busy in the studio finishing songs for their forthcoming album and are about to release a new single 'Vampires'. NB: Dukes will not be playing the Wellington show.
