Charlie ASH UK/Euro Tour 2009

11.05.09
Charlie ASH, that Auckland-based four-piece known for their synthy indie-pop sounds and spectacular live shows, are leaving NZ for a five-week tour of Europe. Starting off in the UK with a sold-out show supporting Ladyhawke at Koko in London, the band is also playing the Great Escape festival in Brighton (the SXSW of Europe) and the Liverpool SoundCity festival. Berlin and Amsterdam gigs will follow:
the group is especially excited to be sharing the bill with fellow Kiwis, Flying Nun legends The Bats, in Amsterdam.
The tour coincides with the release of their latest single in New Zealand. "Wake Up (You're Not Asleep Now)," currently climbing the NZ alternative charts, was produced by James Duncan and celebrates one alternative to recession doom 'n' gloom: "Let's all live in fantasy."
And what better fantasy to come true than a string of European dates for this up-and-coming band?
