Danny McCrum Band supports Eric Clapton

On March 4th the Danny McCrum Band supported Eric Clapton, at Vector Arena, Auckland. The band includes Danny McCrum on guitar and vocals, Ben Jurisich on guitar, Matt Harvey on bass and Glen Child on Drums.

Danny McCrum and Ben Jurisich who have both become recognized for their high standard of guitar playing, met when they were six and started playing guitar together when they were twelve. "We constantly played guitar, wrote songs and started performing together the same year" said Danny. "In Ben's rumpus room there was a raised carpeted area and we would stand up there playing guitar, imagining it was a big stage. The audience was the pool table (usually covered with washing) and Ben's dog. We always had great chemistry together and it's amazing to me, when I think of then versus now."

Now they don't have to imagine. In 2007 they performed support for Bryan Ferry & Joan Armatrading, on February 3rd they played support for Jeff Beck and now Eric Clapton. All shows were extremely well received.  This is a band on the rise!

Danny McCrum Band's debut album 'Awake & Restless' was released in 2007 and they will be releasing their second album this year. They have said the coming album will still have the strong melodic and groove sensibilities the band are known for, but will be heavier, with more attitude and a fresh new sound.
