Tiki Celebrates Waitangi Day 09 In Auckland

Waitangi Day 09 sees the homecoming of solo artist Tiki Taane (Ngati Maniapoto) and his band Tiki Live, fresh from touring the internationally renowned Big Day Out circuit in Australia, the only NZ act to do so this year.
A household name after the success of his number one hit Always On My Mind, Tiki has to date enjoyed local double platinum success with his debut album Past Present Future and is proving to attract an extremely strong following over the Tasman already with the waves from his NZ release.
Bringing his usual stellar lineup of band members, Tiki Live will play 2 diversely different Auckland shows in one day - firstly joining other popular headliners Hollie Smith and P Money with MC's Vince Harder, David Dallas and PNC.
Entertaining around 40,000 South Aucklanders at the 12th Toi O Manukau Waitangi Day free family celebrations, Tiki's live show has been described as "nothing short of a powerfully compelling journey from start to finish".
A unique highlight to look out for is the onstage appearance of Tiki's father popular Christchurch tourism ambassador, Uekaha Taanetinorau.
Tiki's second show Waitangi Fire, is described as a "heavyweight evening of bass culture" to be held in the evening at 4:20 K Rd. An MC/DJ mash up which will showcase Tiki's diversity as an artist as he toasts alongside other top NZ MC's and DJs. With their full merchandise available, Tiki's company Tikidub Productions will also launch some new products at both these events as well as provide signing opportunities for fans at Manukau with Tiki and Uekaha, alongside other headlining artists of the day.
