Canadia's One Dog Clapping EP & Tour

26.03.08
For many years Ashley Noel Hinton's best friend in the world was an iBook G4 named Pants. After Ashley had been fired from his last band Gestalt Switch for his infectious latin rhythms, he and Pants formed Canadia and set about expressing their love for each other in song.
On Friday 14 March Pants died.
The death of a friend can cut a man down at the best of times, but Ashley was further saddened by the fact that he and Pants had been about to take Canadia on the road for the first time, in support of Marystaple, on Tuesday 25 March.
Knowing that Pants would want him to go on, Ashley did the sensible thing and borrowed another computer from Churchtown music kingpin Ed Muzik. Wiping the tears from his eyes, he set about teaching this new machine, Casimir, how to walk, talk and rip DVDs like Pants. The relationship quickly blossomed, and Ashley and Casimir decided to make an EP in memory of Pants. They captured their tears, torments, and fake woodblock on tape, grieving by creating.
And so it is that One Dog Clapping was born. All proceeds from the EP will go towards a cute little baby computer, thus continuing the beautiful legacy of Pants. The EP will be available at all of the shows on Marystaple's No Need to be Nervous album release tour.
