Arch Hill Recordings September News

14.09.07
Perhaps not so scary but over here The Hills Have Ears, David Kilgour is heading out on an acoustic tour and Surf City along with The Haints of Dean Hall are getting things going in Australia...
The Hills Have Ears Compilation CD and shows
That's right apparently The Hills Have Ears and that is what we are calling our 30th release and fourth compilation at Arch Hill...it has fifteen tracks on there including cuts from David Kilgour, Luke Buda, Grand Prix, Surf City, Pine, The Haints of Dean Hall, White Swan Black Swan, Don McGlashan, Panda Bear, Batrider, Punches, Beach House, Ghostplane, Mestar and Jay Clarkson...some tracks you might have heard and others you definitely won't have...plus, the CD comes with a tricky new sticker, some great artwork designed by Kelly Steven (Punches) and other goodies.
How do I get one of these? I hear you ask...well in this case you won't find it in your record store but there are a couple of other ways. Aucklanders are lucky enough to be able to get one included in the door price if they go to one of TWO gigs happening on October 12th...it's kind like a mini-fest thingy...
Friday 12th of October in Auckland
Don McGlashan and the Seven Sisters and Grand Prix at the Kings Arms – Auckland
OR
Surf City, Punches at the Dogs Bollix – Auckland
BOTH shows will include a free copy of The Hills Have Ears Compilation CD to the first 150 people through the door BOTH shows will have more bands added to the bill
The CD will also be available from the Arch Hill website from the first of October
The Far Now David Kilgour (solo) and White Swan Black Swan (duo) September Tour Dates
This Far Now acoustic tour will be a rare occasion to get intimate with songs from David's The Far Now album, along with a few other favorites as well. It will also be the perfect chance to see David before he heads off on an extensive US tour. The White Swan Black Swan have recently completed a 'double mini album' (one side White Swan, the other Black Swan) which is currently being mixed in the US with Mark Nevers (David Kilgour, Calexico, Lambchop, Will Oldham and others)...

The Haints of Dean Hall in Australia and WFMU
Katherine from the The Haints of Dean Hall lives in the Melbourne area so it makes some sense for them to play some shows over there...also, we just noticed that the Haints have been on "heavy rotate" on New York's main College Radio station WFMU...which is nice.
