The Cusp is on again and as thousands of people know – it rocks!
Headlined this year by Frontline, dDub, King Kapisi, My Life Story, the Sneaks, The Hot Grits, The War Within, Everawake and Anaham Cusp '07 is set to be a memorable night. Being an youth focussed gig with a $5 price tag, this year's Cusp is bound to attract a huge crowd to Trafalgar Park on New Years Eve.
The event started five years ago as part Council's Safe Summer initiative, to provide young people with a safe, alcohol-free event on New Years Eve. "The safe summer initiative is all about providing safe and fun activities for local youth and those that flood into the region over summer." says Councillor Colin Aitkin, Chairperson of the Community Services Committee.
The Cusp has gone from strength to strength, and now attracts a diverse audience from all over the country. The Cusp has something for everyone, and it is a great opportunity to hear some fresh new sounds from established national and local artists.
As well as the great variety of live music Cusp 07 also incorporates carnival rides, stalls and a spectacular midnight fireworks display. The music starts at 7pm finishes at 1am New Year's morning. There will be gate sales, and for the first time, tickets can be bought before the event from the Nelson City Council up until the 22nd of December.
