Th' Dudes reform and go on tour with Hello Sailor and Hammond Gamble

16.08.06 - Iconic kiwi 70's rock band Th' Dudes have reformed after 26 years apart and will tour New Zealand in October with other legendary acts of yesteryear Hello Sailor and Hamond Gamble. The reformation was announced at a press conference in Auckland today where the band's original line up of Peter Urlich, Dave Dobbyn, Lez White, Ian Morris and Bruce Hambling performed the group's most famous song Bliss. Interestingly the question that garnered the most reaction from the aged rockers was when a young reporter asked if the group were hoping to play to new/younger fans or whether they were going to be playing to their "old cronies". There was also general sadness at the demise of most of the venues that the 3 acts used to play at, especially Ponsonby's famed Gluepot.

The tour, backed by Radio Hauraki who are celebrating 40 years in business, will go for two weeks and cover most major centres. Dates are:
Mon 2 - Whangarei - Forum
Tue 3 - Napier - Municipal Theatre
Wed 4 - Tauranga - Holy Trinity
Thu 5 - Hamilton - Founders Theatre
Fri 6 - Auckland - St James Theatre
Mon 9 - New Plymouth - TSB Showplace
Tue 10 - Wellington - Opera House
Thu 12 - Invercargill - Civic Theatre
Fri 13 - Dunedin - Town Hall
Sat 14 - Christchurch - Theatre Royal
