ARTIST: Mark Laurent and Brenda Liddiard

Mark and Brenda have been touring NZ, the UK and Australia for 30 years, both solo and as a duo, using music, poetry and humour to talk about "life, the universe, and everything".

Between them they've recorded 20 albums, written hundreds of songs, and their "unplugged" style includes blues, reggae, acoustic rock, ballads and new country. Guitars, mandolin, rowan lute, harmonicas and vocals weave a tapestry of sound and feeling that's both entertaining and moving.

Mark's also published 2 books of poetry, and written articles for New Zealand and international magazines. They've performed numerous times on radio and television.

"... two of New Zealand's finest and most prolific singer/songwriters. .. amazing guitar work .. punchy mandolin .. tongue in cheek humour, plenty of feeling".
- Wellington Folk Festival

"Mark and Brenda are artists who come from the heart. Their music speaks a universal language that seems to touch every audience they play to. The atmosphere they create is intimate, warm, playful and rich with meaning and a wise knowing of shared experience that bathes their audience with a sense of belonging."
- Rex McCann, Author

Hi guys, I see you are still playing. Any chance of coming down to sunny Napier. I love your music, aways have ever since I first heard your sound on 'stranger in a strange city' one of my many all time best albums. My son who has special needs also plays the guitar and would someday like to play like you. He has aspergers(spelling) and a few months ago he picked up our guitar for the first time and now has taught himself so many songs. He busks down town and does really well. He likes to play 'stairway to heaven' and wish you were here'. He would love to hear you play, he would benifit so much from seeing and hearing you play and meeting you one day, I believe you have a good heart and have something to offer you men(he's 15yrs) I know this is a lot to ask for but if you are ever coming down to the Bay(Napier) we would love to come and see you play.
Thanks heaps for your time
Jason
