ARTICLE: The Return of Ticket - Two shows only and the reissue of their long lost album Awake

I was involved in organizing an outdoor rock festival in Gore which was called South Sound Seventy in 1970.Ticket were the headline act who also played The Teenage Dance on the Friday before as well as Invercargill on the Saturday at the RSA dance. It was probably Southlands most successful outdoor music festival ever both musically and finacially.Ticket were like four guys from an other planet with their look and dress as you could imagine in conservative Gore in 1970 but musically they blew everyone away.Country high was in the charts at the time on the radio which although a great song was not indicative of the bands other songs and although a lot of people came to see them on the strengh of that single expecting some sort of country rock band thay were none the less impressed by their sheer blues/rock prowess.
