That was singularly the most painful album I have ever had to listen too. Thank God vinyl is no longer used to make records, as to make that into an album I'd be inclined to say "That album would be a good waste of vinyl"

With a resurgence of interest in Trinity Roots I would be interested in their views on why their song 'Home, Land and Sea' is a censored version. In fact I doubt whether they are aware of this. I refuse to pay good money for a song someone has taken a knife to. Come on Amplifier, your version is censored as well. It's very difficult to convince fans to go out and buy music (as opposed to free downloading) when you don't get the real thing!! The 'offending' word is dubbed out in the line 'I'd be f**ked if I'm going to play their game' and crucial to the feel of the song.

Sagar - the DVD is not part of the download, only the songs from the CD

DKNO - Will have official TrinityRoots tour dates in next couple days (so please don't die!!!), expect gigs around Labour Day wknd and Feb next yr.

Rob - we host & sell the release as it is provided to us... we're not into censorship. Is the offending song rom the live album or the re-issued album?

Gordon - shouldn't you be focusing your attentions on Kirkcaldy and Cowdenbeath?

I appreciate you release whats provided to you, but I doubt whether Trinity Roots themselves censored their own song for pay release. The offending song still is and has been for some time one of your own pay downloads. Listen to it and you will hear the dubbed silence as it jumps past the offending word. As an aside, last year I purchased it from itunes but complained when I found their version was censored. Graciously they refunded my $1.99, so I came here to buy it but found the same version. I complained to apra but got no reply. Bottom line is that apra and the like make big noises about paying to reward artists for their work, but when we pay good money for songs for our own personal use and find it censored, free downloading can seem very attractive.

Hi Rob,

I'll ask Warren about that. The thing to keep in mind though is that TrinityRoots are fully independent, there's no label involved. They control their own recordings so any decision to censor a track is TrinityRoots and TrinityRoots alone.

They provide the masters that go off for reproduction of the CDs and that come to us for digital distribution.

So we're as surprised as you.

And word in from TrinityRoots that "it was it was a decision that all the guys made way back in the day of recording that song."

So there isn't a non-censored version of the song available anywhere.

Hey "DKNO". How would I have been able to make a fair judgement of the album if I had not listened to the whole of it? I persevered actually hoping it was going to get better as judging by the comments, some of the track were supposed to be "amazing". At least I have the balls to say what I think about it, and be critical and use my real name. Just for your interest, I was listening to "real reggae" and smoking Ganja with "REAL" Rastas when you were probably a sperm in your old man's ball bag. Those guys were just strumming guitars. DKNO = "Don't Know Nothing Obviously". Am I correct?

I would go and watch this band, as I believe you can only be a true critic if you listen to them from all angles. But I'd also be prepared to walk if I thought they were crap.
I've been spoilt listening to some very good Reggae, and consider myself to be fortunate to have been able to attend the very 1st Reggae Sunsplash festival held outside of Jamaica, in the days when black & white tv was the norm, and the flashest car on the road was Ford Zephyr. Hey Mr. Editor, (I feel a song coming on), don't knock Kirckaldy, my aunt and uncle live there, I spent many a summer there freezing to death on the banks of the Firth of Forth, and I took my "kiwi" daughters there to visit them only last year. And Cowdenbeath have a shit soccer team. Jah Man.....

If it was a bit of nostalgia & "real reggae" that you were expecting from Trinity Roots then perhaps that's why it wasn't up to your Original Rasta standard.

Hey DKNO, no sweat mate. I truly do love reggae, listening to some Alton Ellis & The Heptones at the moment. When I am back in NZ, as I do travel a lot for work, I actively seek out reggae gigs, I've found the Sanfran Bath House in Wellingon an awesome venue for such gigs, the bands right in your face. I guess I'm close to the oldest guy there. Unfortunately it looks like I'll be away for the Trinity gig in Wellington on the 23rd October. It's a pity NZ anti smoking laws have deprived such gigs the "Atmosphere" to truly savour the music. If you get to see Trinity Roots, it is I who is now envious of you. Enjoy.

Ends up the reason that the offensive word was removed from Home, Land and Sea was that Warren didn't want his mother to hear him swearing.

Rob Man - it was censored in the original version too, not just the re-released version.
