GIMAR is an up & coming mc/producer from Auckland city. Blessed with a crystal clear flow & delivery, GIMAR makes music that reflects himself and his environment.
As a 1/3 member of the underground crew "Tha Storytellaz" , GIMAR has been writing and recording music since late 2004. He has independently released two mixtapes with his Storytellaz crew and recently released two street albums as a solo artist.
GIMAR's motto for his music is simple: "only spit it if you've lived it". With commercial hip hop artists pushing glorified themes of guns, drugs, & hoe's, GIMAR prefers to rap about topics significant to his own life, such as work, debts, relationships, music, and in general, life on the 'grind'.
With plans for more independent releases on the way, and more collaborations with established local artists, GIMAR is ready to step up the NZ hip hop ladder.
