ARTIST: New Telepathics
New Telepathics is based around the music of New Zealand born, German resident, Darryn Harkness, who, in addition to his work with UK band Serafin, has spent the last few years touring and recording New Telepathics throughout Europe with his fellow 'Telepathic Research Agents'.
Gore born, Auckland raised Harkness is bringing New Telepathics (including members of The Orb and Sun Ra Arkestra) to New Zealand to perform and commence recording their next album.
Harkness currently lives in a small village just outside Weimar, Germany at 'The Institute Of Telepathic Research', the nerve centre from where the world of New Telepathics revolves.
When not performing live soundtracks to screenings of Nosferatu (something Harkness does as a solo performer), he is here making videos, creating experimental photography and recording an array of music using a lo-fi studio, just some of which is presented on the EP as an introduction to the band.
New Telepathics have released vinyl and CDs through their own label, Our Rekords. Their self titled 2004, Vinyl only release, is based around arrangements and improvisations featuring Sandy Mill on vocals and Tom Fielding on Tenor saxophone...
