The Grifters, fronted by the big voice of songwriter Bernie Griffen, are a five-piece Auckland band established in
2010. They combine elements of folk, alternative country and RnB, a variety of string band instruments with wild
lead guitar to produce a sound somewhere between Velvet Underground and Johnny Cash.
Bernie Griffen & The Grifters supported international touring artists Justin Townes Earle (twice) Little Band of
