The Torino Scale

Frozen Alice's debut album The Torino Scale recorded with Zorran Mendonsa at The Green Room, Auckland.
From hard-hitting sprawling epic noise on opening track Everyday, to a hint of Middle Eastern influence (Ethics of the Tribe), their music shows off an eclectic range. Each song lyrically has its own voice, while still maintaining the Frozen Alice 'signature'; a solid rhythm section, seamless time signature changes, solid grooves with catchy hooks, yet still staying true to a darker sound.
The songs are infused with a real energy that brings life to their recordings, and comes out like a blinding, skillfully controlled explosion during live shows.
Their music is written in the moment, the band focuses on capturing thoughts and feelings rather than writing what is currently popular. This gives them a fresh and unique sound, bringing some of their older influences (which include Tool, Porcupine tree, Incubus, Mogwai, Pink Floyd, Jakob, Karnivool and A Perfect Circle) into a new decade for a modern audience.
