Eru Dangerspiel are a mesmeric 22-piece group (plus choir) led by TrinityRoots drummer and multi-instrumentalist, Riki Gooch, who guides this unique and artistic musical exploration.
On August 8 2009, an incarnation of Eru Dangerspiel, which consisted of close to 40 band members, gathered onstage to blend unique live jams awash with visual imagery, exploring the depths of harder edged funk, free jazz and futurism.

I find it a hard listen, overly repetitive and long winded songs with slow progression. Symptomatic of the live performance slow jam but not constructed for repeat listening. My comments are generalisations and there are some nice parts, but these are overall outweighed by the negatives and I find myself skipping through tracks. Some of the male vocals in particular are painful and just sound wrong. Very disappointed to run with the Kiwi FM hype around this and purchase without a good listen first. Live and learn. No one else wants to acknowledge this, is it because the line up are the current flavour all-stars, or is it because my ears are out of kilter!!! Chur.
