I'm glad that we can already listen parts of the all songs on Zaine Griff's new album The Visitor, on this website of Amplifier Music. The songs sound very promising! It's amazing Zaine managed to release again a new album, so soon after Child Who Wants The Moon and also arranged the re-release of his first alums Ashes and Diamonds and Figvres.
Posted by harryvanheerden 2.04PM, 30 Mar 2013It was definitely worth the waiting for all Zainefans around the world. Zaine surprizes us with another gem; an album we can keep on playing....over and over again!
The Visitor....
IS Stunning Zaine! xxx
Posted by dashangel57 12.44PM, 29 Mar 2013Hi Ken! I can understand you had your hopes on a live album of Zaine Griff as I heard he performed already great in those days! As far as I know professional audio recordings were never made, but hardcore Zaine fan Dianne Bettis recorded gigs at the Bridge House and other places on her cassette recorder and although it's not perfect, it's great and very special to hear those live shows!
Posted by harryvanheerden 8.56PM, 3 Aug 2012I have filmed Zaine in 1983 at his Grand Finale concert in The Venue, Londen, shortly after his Dutch Tour that year. I uploaded some songs to my YouTube page Boyskeepswingin2, which is specially put up to promote Zaine's music. Also some fine songs that were never released on studio albums can be found there, like the beautiful That Other Side Of Her and the swinging song It's A Sin. Also some out takes and demos can be found there. I hope Zaine might release a live album in the future with some outtakes and demos as bonus songs. Would be great! In the meantime there's Zaine's great musical legacy, a superb new album Child Who Wants The Moon and even a brand NEW ALBUM very soon to come! Keep your eyes on this website and Zainegriff.com and Zaine's fan site zainegriff.co.uk for all info of this and so much more!
Was there ever any live recordings made of Zaine when he played in the UK. I saw him many play times at the Bridge House in Canning Town, London. At one time, I think he played 14 nights on the trot He had a fantastic backing band at that time and I know many fans were hoping for a live album to be issued. Many people, I think were disappointed when Ashes and Diamonds was only a studio album
Posted by Ken 4.37AM, 2 Jul 2012Zaine Griff is the BEST thing that can happen to your ears. The music and lyrics will enrich your life....but WARNING: it's a lifelong addiction once you'll ever start listening to Zaine's music. Zaine Griff is the least known Famous Singer In The World but shows top quality, not only at his latest CD release CHILD WHO WANTS THE MOON but also on his first albums ASHES AND DIAMONDS and FIGVRES - where artists like the (now world famous film music composer) Hans Zimmer, Warren Cann from Ultravox, Yukihiro Takahashi (from Yellow Magic Orchestra) and Kate Bush joined him, among many other fine singers and musicians. So many people have been waiting for a new album of Zaine AND the re-release of his first - totally sold out - albums. Now they are here again. Available!
Posted by harryvanheerden 12.03AM, 5 Jun 2012Jack, Harry Van Heerden and I raised the issue of a CD to collect together the missing tracks with Zaine, and hopefully he is considering it.
'Passioante Reply' was originally planned for release as a single but unfortunately this did not happen. However, it did finally make it onto 7" and 12" vinyl as the B-Side of 'Swing' in 1983.
Head over to the www.zainegriff.co.uk and look in the 'Discography' section under 'Zaine Griff - Solo' for full details.
As soon as the CD release is confirmed details will be added to the site.
Posted by Samvox 6.21AM, 27 Jan 2012Delighted to hear Zaine's albums are soon to be issued on CD, can't wait to see them ready to be ordered on this site.
Zaine has many fans in the UK who will want to buy these discs.
Two questions:
1)any chance of a compilation CD of uncollected single tracks etc one day?
2) Does anyone know if Zaine's cover of 'Passionate Reply' was ever released, or did it onlt ever get aired when he appeared on TV?
Posted by Jack Prussia 5.06AM, 15 Jan 2012So good to see Zaine's first two albums getting a digital release. I look forward to ordering the CDs shortly.
Head over to www.zainegriff.co.uk for all the latest news about Zaine dont forget to look Zaine up on facebook.
