Mara & The Bushkas
MARA & THE BUSHKAS formed in Wellington, February 2010 after Mara Simpson, Singer-Songwriter, bumped into session guitarist Matthew Newman in a Cuba St music shop. The two argued over Atlantic soul, Matthew lost the argument and was forfitted to jam with Mara and Bushka founding bassist Bruce Reid from The Volunteers. A versatile drummer was clearly needed; and fellow Singer-Songwriter and friend Jean Pompey of Olmecha Supreme and Sheeba was the obvious choice. The Bushka project was born...
