Dr Shush
Smoothly polished in appearance, attitude and sound, at age 22, the artist known as Dr. Shush has been writing songs for as long as he can remember. On stage, he's the life of the party. Off-stage, he's the dude who takes time out to make sure that guy or girl sitting in the corner by themselves is okay, and will probably introduce them to someone he knows also. With Dr Shush, what you see is what you get, one on-the-level brother on a mission to make some real good music.
A self-confessed instrument whore, vocalist, and by virtue of this - one man band, Dr. Shush makes piano-led melodic pop (genre non-specific). Pop peppered with down-to-earth, sometimes wisecracking, sometimes serious observations about life itself. Generally tackling what he describes as, �honest cheese,� Dr Shush doesn�t get too academic when it comes to expression, he�s just looking to clearly convey simple messages. Artistically informed by the gypsy-like experiences of a world wanderer, Dr. Shush has lived all over New Zealand, and spent time in Australia and Japan; taking part in an equal mixture of the miraculous and the mundane.
Be it wandering around Shibuya with a couple of power rangers, relocating to Australia with $200, a guitar and an amplifier, or selling electricity, the only constants in Dr. Shush�s life to date have been music, change and his integrated philosophy of Philanthropic Capitalism. - Martin Pepperall.
