Extempore
The Auckland based period instrument ensemble Extempore was formed in Holland in 1985 while James and Sally Tibbles and Graham McPhail were undertaking post graduate study at the Royal Conservatory in The Hague. On their return to NZ, they were joined by Margaret Cooke.
The group has established a fine reputation both in NZ and abroad for its vibrant performances of 18th century chamber music. They maintain an active performing, recording and teaching schedule and champion the use of original instruments and historic playing techniques.
