MC OJ and Rhythm Slave
MC OJ (Otis Frizzel) and Rhythm Slave (Mark Williams) were NZ hip hop pioneers. They're still around. Slave, regulary guests with Fat Freddy's Drop and has directed several video projects with them. Otis, the son of Dick Frizzell, is an established artist and seems to have his photo in the social pages of the Sunday Star Times and Sunday Herald on a very regular basis.
