After only two recordings in the space of a couple of years The Subliminals were no more. Simon Maclaren went on to produce the effortless beauty of Sleepers Union, Brendan Moran went to belt the crap out of his drum kit for The Hasselhoff Experiment. In that time however they released the acclaimed LP United States, which Grant Smithies in the Sunday Star Times described as '...the best local rock album in years'.
