We're in this together

21.09.10
It always strikes me as odd the way musicians rally round and/or get pulled into charity events, not because I think musicians are uncaring, no sireee, no it's more for the fact that our musicians are generally not exactly living the high life with many struggling just to get by. yet whenever the call goes out there they are happy and willing to forgo a paycheque for a good cause. This is again the case for those affected by the Canterbury Earthquakes.
A stellar line up of kiwi artists will come together on Monday 27 September for I Love ChCh - a relief concert to support our brothers and sisters in Christchurch.
Held at the TelstraClear Pacific Events Centre in Manukau, I Love ChCH will feature performances from some of New Zealand's finest including Scribe, Boh Runga, Jason Kerrison, Maitreya, Nesian Mystik, J. Williams, Smashproof, House Of Shem, Savage, Vince Harder, Sweet & Irie, David Dallas, Mika, PNC, Aaradhna, Devolo, Erakah, Frisco, Pieter T and more.
I Love ChCh tickets are limited to 2,500, so with the top notch talent on offer people will need to be in quick to show their support. The concert will run from 7pm - 9.30pm, doors open 6.30pm. Monday 27 September, TelstraClear Pacific Events Centre. Well done those organisers and musicians!
TrinityRoots fans in the capital and surrounds will be pleased to know if they missed out on a chance to see the band on the 23rd of Oct, the band have now added a second show on the 24th.
And now for some music...
Release Of The Week:
Concord Dawn - The Enemy Within
NZ drum & bass powerhouse Concord Dawn returns with his long awaited fifth studio album, The Enemy Within.
Featuring the classic Concord Dawn sound, with a plethora of vocal talent, including Rikki Morris, Paul McLaney, Nina McSweeny, JDubs and Thomas Oliver alongside guests Bulletproof, Cern and Rido.
All the classic Concord Dawn elements are present and correct: chillingly beautiful vocals, bone-crushing drums and a bottom-end second to none. The title track is a classic example, with elements of Broken Eyes and Man For All Seasons (from 2006's Chaos By Design).
The Enemy Within marks another leap forward in the Concord Dawn story.
