TrinityRoots, after six years, two and a half albums and many gigs across the earth, played their final concert February 13th 2005 in a sellout show at the Wellington Town Hall. It has been a long wait for fans - but finally, Music Is Choice is offered to fill the void with 8 tracks from their last concerts on CD packaged with a feature length music documentary and bonus footage on DVD (Rated PG). The album is released on September the 6th and we're taking pre-orders now so you can get your copy as quickly as possible once its released. Please note MP3's won't be available for purchase until the 6th.

The search for New Zealand's next big musical find narrowed yesterday as Smokefreerockquest announced the top eight bands to play off the national final at Hamilton's Founders Theatre on September 11. The nationwide contest this year had 3000 entrants, 23 regional finals, a record 800 bands, with the eight finalists covering a range of musical genres and a regional spread across New Zealand.

Working in music one tends to become fixated on the machinations of the music industry... as well as the music of them we work with and those we just dig musically. Over the past ten years watching the business of music has been like watching the worlds slowest car crash.... here are ten examples from Digital Music news of some of the bigger piles ups, (Hat tip to musichype for the link): The 10 Most Disastrous Music Industry Deals...  It's been a rough decade. Digital Music News dove into the archives for the ten most disastrous deals of the past ten years....

Release Of The Day:
Sharkweek - Shark 'n' Taties - Sharkweek Remixed

Following hot on the heals of his recent collection of remixes of other artists, Gimme Gimme Shark Treatment, Sharkweek is proud to announce the release of companion album, Shark 'n' Taties.

Eleven original Sharkweek tracks have been sliced and diced, liberally sauced, thoroughly chewed and then colourfully regurgitated by a range of NZ electronica artists.

From the playful fidget house of Haszari to the take-no-prisoners dark and heavy dubstep of Sick Cycle, from the lush ambient dub of Invader Tron to the minimal tech of NSU; this album has something for everyone.
