Down Side Up

24.06.10

We figured our recent office move would cure us of the rather disappointing broadband speeds we'd endured in our previous location but alas we still regularly enjoy upload speeds of between 0 and 18 KB/s which promoted Mr Business Manager yesterday  to suggest that Fat Freddy's could record an album in less time than we'd take to upload it.

Whilst ISP's continue to field our calls only not to return them (often) or worse have no practical solution to offer us. So we labour away going slightly net mad so you can access some kiwi goodness with today's slice of heaven comes to you from Fatt Maxx.. You're welcome.

Release Of The Day:
Fatt Max - Blooze Yeah

After taking the plunge and emigrating to NZ in 1998, Fatt Max released the widely acclaimed 'Takin' the P**s' album in 1999. From there, writing took a nose dive until, following a trip home to London in 2007 and an inspiring afternoon in the pubs of Dunstable with his drumming brother, the will to record rekindled itself.

Back in NZ and drawing on inspiration from both music and God's own country, Fatt Max is back to it with Blooze Yeah and in his own words: "Some say that blues is an attitude, a way of life. It is truth, honesty, makes you happy and sad. It can cut through life's crap and give hope and purpose. It can shape and define, make you laugh and cry, shout and whisper.

But, for all of these things, it can place you wherever you want to be.

I do not profess that this humble collection of tunes will have that affect on those who listen to it, but here's hoping." Fatt Max
