June, June, June, June, June, June, June, July, August. Winter Months

01.06.10

There's a song and video that inspired today's heading, one that I can never resist at this time of year (fanboy hat firmly on) so here once again is the video for of the song that contains the refrain.... June, June, June, June, June, June, June, July, August. Winter Months... and here it is;

Classic Video:
Skeptics - Agitator

The Skeptics were a postpunk/experimental band from 1979 to 1990. Their music combined traditional instrumentation with electronic and machine-based rhythm and sound. The Skeptics were pioneers in recording with electronics in New Zealand and as such commanded a devoted listnership through their experimental and innovative musical form.

Agitator is from the now out of print Skeptics album III, from 1987.

Release Of The Day:
Organikismness - Form In Motion

New Zealand Drum and Bass, Dubstep and electronica producer Organiksimness aka Harry Bretherton has been crafting his raw hybrid sound since the late 90's and has seen releases on labels such as Protogen, Mindtek, Extent, Anomaly, Optimus gryme, Empathy and Betamorph recordings.

Form In Motion is Organikismness' highly anticipated solo album. The benchmark double disc release covers the depths of the breakbeat sound and features collaborations from the likes of; Lost Sequence, Optimus Gryme, Olie Bassweight, Tsubliminal, Stepa, Raw Skin Deluxe and Ras Juda.

The album is testament to the diversity of today's Drum & Bass and Dubstep genres in NZ.
