Lucky Paul - Chasing Diamonds
Lucky Paul is Paul Taylor, beat maker and wizard of live improvisational sounds ranging from indie electronica to hip-hop and soul grooves. With a background in jazz drumming and percussion, Paul has studied traditional Korean music in Seoul with Pansori master Bae Il-Tong and Indian classical music in Varanasi with the famous Maharaj family. He also lived in Brazil for one year studying its percussion and music.
Paul's musical direction has extended into electronica with an emphasis on live improvisation and beat-generation. The music is coloured by the 8-bit sounds of his homemade '80s computer chip synthesisers to form a sonic landscape that is richly textured and layered while underpinned by J Dilla, etc inspired beats.
