Somewhere between Thursday and Saturday

29.01.10
Amplifier took a short break from NZ Music last week and went to see soul legend Al Green at Auckland's Civic Theatre. Sitting in the circle before the good Reverend came on stage (and after the crowd fight during the Opensouls opening slot had finished!) it made me think that The Civic must be one of the most beautiful venues for an indoor gig in the Southern Hemisphere. If anyone out there can think of any nicer places then please drop us an e-mail to let us know or leave it here via the discuss option.
In the news; Auckland's 95bFM's annual Summer Series is back;
"2010 marks the 20th anniversary of the iconic free summer music event in the CBD and the 40th anniversary of Albert Park. On March 7th, a quintessentially 'bFM' lineup will take over the park from 12pm-7pm"
Always a fun day out and a family friendly one at that.T here is more festival news from Splore today.

Dylan Story - Sold It All Away
Sold it all Away, the latest single from Dylan Storey's latest album Out of the Soup, is now available for free download for a week until Feb 4th.
It is a fresh alternative, country/rock song which intertwines instrumentation and lyrical themes, pondering the nature of time and commitment.
The single is available in both a radio edit (shorter) and full version.
Since its release in July 2009, Out of the Soup has been receiving excellent critical feedback and here's your chance to sample the album for free to see why.
