Release Of The Week
Strike - Sketches
Strike is a high energy drumming group made up of New Zealand's most outstanding percussionists, specialing in movement-based, choreographed percussion.
Pacific, classical and contemporary musical influences, combined with a movement and theatre-based presentation, make Strike unique in the world of percussion music.
Recorded live in one room, with no overdubs, Sketches is full of intricate rhythms, intense energy, soaring melodies, lyrical fire, elaborate percussive soundscapes, haunting harmonies and clandestine water instrumentation.
The album was engineered and produced by Olliver Ballester and recorded at Karekare Studio. Gareth Farr contributes two compositions.
