Chart Attack

09.12.09

This week's chart is again dominated by festive season sales with releases that suit this time of year hogging the chart; greatest hits collections and stuff you can gift ya nana.

It really is about the music isn't it?

Anyways flying the local flag, we find Gin Wigmore whose album sparked some very heated debate at the annual choosing of Amplifier's top albums of the year conference held last week - Gin is very popular with the ladies at Amplifier towers. Well Gin's debut album is still selling well and is this week sitting at number 5.

Dave Dobbyn is at number 8 this week and Shapeshifter drop back to 16. Hayley Westernra's Christmas album is at 25.

Second week in for Salmonella Dub and they are at number 30 this week. Carl Doy is at 38 and holding the rare we find Fat Freddy's at 40.

The singles chart remains less green than it has been with the big movement being Stan Walker's single Black Box leaping into the number one spot - I've never heard of Stan nor his single... best I right that action today...

The Great NZ Songbook refuses to stop selling and is at number 3 this week in the compilation chart.

Release Of The Day
David Dallas - I Get The Feelin

Staying upbeat in the face of a relationship break up is a tough thing to do. Somehow I Get The Feelin, the infectious new single from David Dallas, makes it a whole lot easier.

Sounding like it was crafted from summer itself and featuring talented newcomer Niko on the hook, you'd be hard pressed to find a face that doesn't smile when this tune drops. Undeniable stuff.

For those of you who like to draw, the David Dallas Something Awesome competition might appeal

Have A Great Day
Ed
